Shredd & His Shredders, led by frontman Antony Lusmore, good friends of all the original members of the world famous band Runtime Error, released their first album "Rootin' Tootin' Rodeo", today. The album was announced 12 years ago, but in an interview with Antony Lusmore, he informed us that he "really couldn't be arsed to record it."
Lusmore admits RTR "should've been done long ago, but we [the band] never got round to it." He describes longtime friends Runtime Error as "a brilliant help in making the CD, the original members especially. Jakey and Cactus dropped in now and then, and I saw Eifion and Brandon once or twice. I didn't meet Kevin or Joey unfortunately - Kevin is still in jail (I think, he definately was while we were recording this) and Joey is a busy guy with his movie business. He is currently working on an RE movie which I am making a cameo in, which should be fun.
"Jakey, like I said, came by a lot, and he actually did the artwork for this album, with some help from our good friend Stevo Fisher, who has featured on the cover of a few of RE's albums in the past. Also, on the way out of the recording studio, he got electrocuted. I can't remember what happened exactly, but his screams of pain somehow got recorded, and ended up on one of the songs. Which means I had to credit him as a composer, and he now gets royalties for my albums, the man of limited inheritance. But I am happy with the end product, and I am looking forward to getting back into the studio for the next album"
Rootin' Tootin' Rodeo is out now via Tesco Records.
