Since we started with this religious thing, let's do it here and keep it here only. I hope we can have a mature discussion here. For svart, I ask you to not delete this topic since it's not offensive again't any religion, this topic is only to debate what you belive, if you see anything agains't the rules here delete or edit the post, I think we can have a good debate on this topic.

I believe in Jesus Christ, the Holy Ghost, and the Lord God.

I believe Jesus Christ died on the cross to rescue us from sin, and conquered death by being raised from the dead.

I believe that the Bible was written by God's followers, and it's contents fully explain what God's ideals are for us.

What I want to hear is, what do you guys believe in?

How is dying going to rescue us from our sins?

Here is my honest answer about what I believe:

I don't know.

religion is ok

i believe that i dont believe.

I believe that only one religion (including Atheism) is right. And I don't know which one.

So I'll be open-minded.

Well, I believe on the big bang and evolution shit, but I don't believe it just exploded from nothing, I believe a "force" made it happen, basically, I believe in "God", but I don't believe in the christian (or any other) idea of God.

Have you ever heard of "The Age of Reason"?

According to my English teacher, the founding fathers believed in a religion when a God came and started the earth, and let it be to run on it's own. Then He left and ignored it, leaving it to fend for itself. Is this what you find true?

Yes, that religios is deism, I am a deist.

as far as i'm concerned, the bible is true, but rather than creating all animals god created single-celled organisms and let them evolve, watching over them.

Why do you guys think this is even nessecary to discuss?

I think the problem is people confuse FACT with Truth. The Bible is not fact. That is fundementalism. The fact is, FACT did not exist until the 19th century. If the bible said what actually had happened (keep in mind most of us couldn't make heads or tails of what the formation of the universe involved today), the bible wouldn't have been accepted. The bible is Truth not fact.


People who accept it as fact are in for trouble with the conflicting stories of Judas's death, and are the kind of people who believe those museums that say the universe was created 4,000 (rough number, probably wrong) years ago.


Oh, and a websters dictonary definition for you:


Fact: Something that can be verified by an Outside Observer
Truth: ideal or fundamental reality apart from and transcending perceived experience*

*Actually there are multiple definitions, but this is the one I'm using.


Oh, and Catholic Creationism/Darwinism is dumb, because creationism is fundamentalism which Chatolicism condemns.

I BELIEVE THE SAME THING. I AGREE WITH THE BIG BANG THEORY BEING FLAWED, BECAUSE STUFF DOESN'T JUST EXPLODE FOR NO REASON, ESPICIALLY AN EXPLOSION THAT BIG. THEY SAY IT'S STILL EXPANDING. I DO THINK A HIGHER BEING OF SOME SORT CAUSED THE EXPLOSION, BUT I AM CHRISTIAN, SO I DO BELIEAVE IN THE TYPICAL BIBLE STUFF, EVEN THOUGH IT CONTRIDICTS IT'S SELF IN SOME INSTANCES. I JUST BELIEVE IN THE THINGS THAT MAKE SENSE, IN OTHER WORDS. JESUS IS THE SON OF GOD, GOD ROCKS, AND GOD GAVE ROCK AND ROLL TO US. THAT'S ABOUT IT.
