What kind of player are you second best, are you beginner, intermediate or expert

I dunno. I can do the normal harmonic stuff, artificial and natural, I can tap like no ones buiseness, and I can pick pretty fast( not real sloppy either) I'm also in the process of learning to sweep pick.

You all are a helluva lot better then me. I know my basic chords and can tremblo pick for a very short time be anchoring my hand... I can tap, not that good, and I don't understand any of the scales... they confuse me. ;-;

And that OK. It took me a while to learn how to palm mute well. What I did is I thought of every song that involves palm muting(a lot) and just did those parts for an hours for a week. It becomes easier after that, or at least it did for me.

How long've you been playing? I'm in my 6th year of playing now, but the prior years of harmonica playing were handy-dandy.

I clocked my own playing, and I can go at about 15 nps alt. picking, which is faster than a lot of shredder guys, but most of them get their speed with sweep or economy picking, and I can play faster using them, but I tend to alt. pick (and hybrid pick) more than I sweep or economy pick. Not that I can't do them, but there's not much sonic versitality involved. I'll throw in some super-cool note choices or intervallic jumps, but I don't really need to do it. I've got my rhythm stuff down, and I've actually learnt how to write groovy riffs within the past few months. They're mostly in a Ted Nugent/Deep Purple style, with the stacked 4th, but it's all good.

... anyway, I saved up for about... well, ages, to get my RR1. The neck's nice and thin, so you can get around with all that shreddy stuff pretty easily, and the Seymour Duncans are awesome. It's mostly a Metal guitar, so there's a lot of gain and squeelyness from the pick-ups. I don't really play Metal, but that's okay, 'cos it's Metal toneage in a Vivian Campbell/Doug Aldrich kind of way. Oh yeah, for major fun, buy it, drive it until it begs for mercy, and play a pinch harmonic and whammy it.



But yeah, it's pretty awesome. I've been using my Firebird a lot because it suits the music better... and it looks a bit cooler by my standards. But I still play the RR1 'cos it's so super-groovy

Anyway, when it comes to skills, I don't know where I'd sit. I have lots of trouble memorizing solos. Also, I can't really sweep. I've never clocked myself alternate picking, but I think I'm pretty fast.

Lately I've been into a lot of third-wave ska and also the Strokes, so I've been wanting a Gretsch or a Nick Valensi Epiphone Rivera.

And I know the harmonic minor, natural major, and pentatonic minor scales.
