Shredd & His Shredders treated the town of Hemel Hempstead, England to a free gig today, to celebrate the release of their second album, Break the Walls.
Antony Lusmore, S&HS frontman, commented on the gig, saying "It was a riot. I had no idea Hemel Hempstead was such a crazy place."
The album was given 4 M's in Meringue! magazine, the same rating that their debut album, "Rootin' Tootin' Rodeo" recieved in last week's issue. In this album, Shawn Drover and Fernando von Arb were replaced by Aynesley Dunbar and Billy Sheehan. According to Lusmore, "Jake Adjutant recommended Billy Sheehan when he came round to lend a hand with this album, and that was a great tip; he's been brilliant on this album. Aynesley was a joint decision of both me and Eifion Lewis when he came by. He was in the area, so i suggested he came to the studio for a day. It was good; he seems to be getting on quite well with his stuff."
As for the change of record label, Lusmore says "Tesco Records were pretty quick to ditch us in the end; we got into an argument when they found out they didn't exist. We've moved to Sound Riot Records, who have bands like Svartsyn, Chain Collector and Infernum. They're great guys, the only downside is that after this album, we have to go to Brazil to record any further records."
"Stevo was one of the first guys I called (after Jakey) when the decision was made to start work on a new album, he is amazing to work with. There were a few people I just
had to get to guest on the album, Taylor Maddox and Cactus were high up on my list, as well as Anthony Brevick, another guy Jake put me in touch with. Also, some guy called Jake Collins lived in the basement of the recording studio, and he only agreed to put up with us if we let him guest on the album, so there is about half a second of him on the last track. Oh, and we got everyone who came into help with the album do a bit on the bonus track, so he is on that too."
"All in all, it was a brilliant album to record, and I hope the public reception of it is as good as the first."
