| Ok, let's face it. You hadn't heard of every song on GH before it came out and you actually played each and every delicious song on the setlist. Surely, some of these new songs you had never heard of before struck you, and you just wanted to listen to it hundreds of times in a row. This thread is to share with us those songs that you hadn't heard before you played GH/RB, but REALLY, REALLY liked it.
Here's Mine:
GH1 Spanish Castle Magic Higher Ground Crossroads Texas Flood Godzilla Cheat on the Church All of This Fly on the Wall Story of My Love
GH2 Surrender Message in a Bottle Can't You Hear Me Knockin' YYZ Hangar 18 Push Push (Lady Lightning) Trogdor
GH3 Paint it Black Monsters Knights of Cydonia Number of the Beast Through The Fire And Flames
80s Hold on Loosely Ballroom Blitz Wrathchild
Rock Band Hand That Feeds Reptilia Sabotage Gimme Shelter Brainpower Tom Sawyer Green Grass and High Tides Welcome Home Pleasure (Pleasure)
My Top 5 1. Message in a Bottle 2. Knights of Cydonia 3. Texas Flood 4. Godzilla 5. Green Grass and High Tides

Message in a Bottle was new to me, because this was in my transition days from Country to Classic Rock. Before this time, I had only ever heard Roxanne. Because I hadn't really heard all of classic rock yet, that's why Texas Flood was a surprise to me, PeeWee. Surrender I had heard of, but never really listened to it. Big mistake on my part. Same with Gimme Shelter and Paint it Black.

| What it really does is show that there's a certain area of music we listen to and this emphasizes it. It also emphasizes what's played on radio stations in different parts of the countries. What it also shows is people's change in musical tastes after Guitar Hero first hit the market. | |

| Yeah, but just different aspects of music. You have to consider, a thirteen year boy in a small town with no nearby record stores and a dad, who despite owning at least a ton in records, only ever played southern rock and jazz, doesn't have much options. | |

Not really. Unless you consider playing your French Horn night and day into music. Like I said, I started Guitar Hero right when I was getting into the music I like now...so most of the stuff from GH1 influenced what I listen to now.

| Wait...Jinzo, you play/ed the horn? OMG! I heart the horn, I've played it since middle school and hold first chair in my band...which isn't saying much since there are only 2 horn players. I have been told I'm really good though and made it to the area honor band...
Also for people who don't understand, the French horn is technically called the horn but people always ask 'What kind of horn?' so us Americans call it the French horn because they're lazy. It's not actually French even, I think it's only called French because it's in the key of F.

| Yeah Glamy, I still play Horn. I, too, have first chair at my school, and am playing first chair at All-County band (Although I think it might just be seniority). Our school has 4 Horns, but one of them originally played saxophone, and another trumpet, so they're kind of Horn Newbs. | |

| Ah, you have no idea how excited I feel to see another horn player because I've only ever seen eight in Idaho that have actually stayed with it. But then again, maybe that has something to do with Idaho having .5%(probably less) of the population. | |

| My music knowledge was big at that time, no doubt, but not in the ways of more guitar based songs. At that time I was going through a phase of Pink Floyd, Queen, David Bowie, and a few modern bands. Then right now I'm into anything with a good bass riff, some catchy modern bands, and a bit of glam rock. But in between all of that and guitar hero it let me see more that I wouldn't go out and purchase. | |
